Box Office Bears has begun! But who were they and what does it mean?

This year we've had several chances to muse on the architectural and performance function of playing spaces like the Curtain or the Blackfriars—in part thanks to events we've held at these spaces and in part thanks to contributions that open up new aspects of their histories.

This has been the only full year of our two year research project, and we have been busy.

We're pleased to say we have a very busy summer before us.  Ahead of our first Read Not Dead this Sunday, we outline here some of our major upcoming activities.

We launched our website last year, on the date of Shakespeare’s 400^th anniversary, with an introduction to the project and something of a provocation in Andy’s post about putting the Shhhh into Shakespeare....

The Before Shakespeare project held its first Advisory Board meeting earlier this month.
